What is the difference between ceramic and Porcelain tile?
Porcelain tile is made of a more refined material. Once the tiles are formed they are fired to high temperatures and their surfaces are glazed. The clay used in porcelain is more highly refined and purified; consequently porcelain tiles are denser and more rugged, making them ideal for harsher applications, such as flooring. Also, because of their high density, porcelain tiles are less likely to absorb moisture. Porcelain tiles are also available in "rectified" form which is a straight edge cut allowing for an installation with only 1/16" grout line, giving you the look of marble or natural stone. Rectified installation requires floating the floor for a smooth feel and appearance.
The installers for Pino are quite experienced in this installation and can give you a perfect looking floor installation that will take you into the modern look of today and the future, and end your worries of cleaning the grout forever.
